Silence of the night

The project treats silence as material condition, not as absence of sound. Silence is positioned as having weight, texture, and density—an architecture that registers what speech cannot.In the urban context of Cairo, night does not produce silence. It produces unheard frequencies. The work investigates the interval between acoustic event and perceptual registration. What is visualized is not darkness, but the inner monologue of light.The inquiry positions silence as forensic medium. It documents the memory of the day as it settles—particulate, cumulative, refusing erasure. Night is employed not as temporal marker, but as methodology for listening to what remains when language withdraws.Silence here operates as resistance. It refuses the mandate to narrate. The project articulates a chromatic and spatial grammar for what persists below the threshold of articulation
